11 Strategies You Ought To Know Before Taking An Exam!

Share Post:
Almost each one of us has been a student in one or the other part of life. But being a regular school student is something that includes even non-popular things (among students) such as exams which we all have to take no matter how unhappy we are.Nevertheless, we all share the same fate but what we can do is to first be punctual in lectures and prepare well for the exams. By Siddique Hassan.

Most of us think that preparing the course is enough for getting high grades in exams by ignoring the test-day’s part. Even the brilliant students can get it wrong if they don’t follow the test-day or what is most commonly known as test-taking tips. Below I’ve mentioned some widely accepted test-taking strategies that can certainly help you in getting much better grades than those who ignore.

Read all direction carefully:
While you are going to take a test, first get yourself aware of all the instructions and directions given by the examiner so that you could avoid yourself of any unnecessary difficulty later on during the test and save your precious time.

Read all questions carefully:
Once you have read all the directions, it is the time to read all the questions very carefully. Don’t forget to mark the questions which you know you can really attempt good.

Be sure you know what is being asked:
One of the most important points is that while reading the questions you know that what is really being asked in the question because if you don’t, you are really going to mess up things.

Look at all choices before you answer:
If you are attempting MCQ type questions get yourself 100% sure about the best choice because sometimes it does happens that there are similar types of answers that really confuse you. So be 100% sure.

Eliminate answers you know are wrong:
After you have read the question carefully, reconsider the answer even if you already know it so that you can eliminate the answers you know are wrong.

Paraphrase the questions:
Paraphrasing is also very important when questions are asked in a difficult manner and you don’t get the idea of what is being asked in the question. So, do paraphrase the questions when needed.

Think carefully:
Thinking carefully is one of the most important requirements while taking a test. Some students find it difficult to think well and to the point, this might be the consequence of not preparing for the test properly.

Write neatly:
When you are done with choosing the best answer now is the time to jot it down on the answer sheet. Answering with the best is still not a key to getting good marks. One and the last hurdle still lies there if you do not write the answers neat and clean.

Answer to the point:
You have to keep in mind that you do not go for increasing the content of your answer but answer to the point.

Check your work:
In the end when you have answered all the questions, go for a recheck. Rechecking your paper is one of the fundamental tips for test taking. There is always a chance of mistake while you take a test being a human being. Rechecking just helps you to remove those mistakes and make your paper a perfect one.
And one more thing to keep in mind, try to be cool, don’t be hasty and do your best!

And in the end I'd tell you what the final strategy is, which always is based, on our previous path and that is to:
DO YOUR BEST!
